A Clarion County man faces charges for allegedly attempting to hire someone to murder his ex-wife, her boyfriend, and his current wife. Thirty-six-year-old Jerry Lee Ritchey is accused of attempting to arrange the murders while an inmate at the Clearfield County Jail on January 27th of this year.
Franklin State Police Corporal Mitch York didn’t identify the would-be hit-man in the case. Ritchey is currently serving time for a string of burglaries in Clearfield, Clarion and Venango Counties. Online court records list Ritchey’s most recent address in Strattanville; previous addresses have included Oil City and Cooperstown. Ritchey’s bail was set at 250-thousand dollars. He was arraigned Monday and will have a preliminary hearing March 28th.
